Follows the hinge

How far the lid closes sets how far the picture leans. Halfway closed looks halfway folded.

Soft at the top, sharp at the hinge

Blur and fade build toward the top edge only. Everything near the keyboard stays crisp.

Screen Recording
Required. LidLogic redraws your screen during the transition, so macOS asks for Screen Recording permission, and the recording indicator stays in the menu bar while it's on. Nothing is saved or sent.
Download
Direct download, not the Mac App Store. It uses system interfaces the App Store doesn't allow, so a future macOS update could break it until LidLogic is updated.

FAQ

Does it slow my Mac down?

With the lid still, LidLogic uses about 1% CPU. During a transition it redraws the screen at 60 fps, only for as long as the lid moves.

Why does it need Screen Recording permission?

macOS doesn't let apps bend other apps' windows. LidLogic captures the screen and draws a tilted copy on top while the lid moves. The capture stays in memory on your Mac and is never saved or uploaded.

Will I see it when I open the lid from sleep?

Mostly not. The display turns on partway through opening, so the transition shows when you move the lid while the Mac is awake.

Can I turn off the sound?

Yes. Motion and close sounds each have an Off option, plus a volume slider.
